Ibeyi x UAL

This brief was presented to us by XL Recordings as part of our MA course:

”Students are invented to be the creative director of the following 360 campaign: How can Ibeyi authentically connect with their fans through multiple platforms and mixed media to produce an intentional 360 visual campaign?”

Our main visual for this campaign would be a still life representative of Ibeyi and the themes of healing and metamorphosis. Our campaign was going to focus on an anniversary re-edition of Spell 31. To help us choose object for the still life we listened to Spell 31 and pulled out symbols from songs to further connect our narrative. We decided on six themes that will help guide our visuals and that also serve as remainders: memento mori – memento vivere, stagnation – metamorphosis, rise above – los Muertos

This project was made in collaboration with Julia-Jones Dero, Daria Semenova, Rebecca Wilhelm, Julliana Larrotta and Nour Asmar.

After our research into Ibeyi and their music, we decided that our main visual for this campaign would be a still life representative of Ibeyi and our themes of healing and metamorphosis. To help us choose object for the still life we listened to Spell 31 and pulled out symbols from songs to further connect our narrative.
