playwright’s refuge

The brief for this project was to create a live-work space for one person. I chose to design a space for a playwright and situated it in Park Gradac in Dubrovnik. Every year Gradac serves as a backdrop for multiple plays that are being held during the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. The concept for this project is for the playwright to spend an entire year living and working from this space, collecting stories from those who come visit them and put on a play which would then be performed at the festival next summer. The “living” space is stationary while the “work” space can be take apart and re-assembled to accommodate different actions.
